Removing high sec ice, would kill a majority of the manufacturing / research economy. People use high sec towers because they want to research bpo's they also mine their own ice from high sec. If you removed it there, you put a majority of the bpo/bpc/manufacturing sector to rely on 0.0 people for their resources. WHICH I can guarantee you, they will not sell to high sec cept for some horrendous value.
WHAT you need to do is buff 0.0 ice, Example Blue ice yields 300 isotopes Thick blue ice yields 350 isotopes.
If 0.0 is higher risk, there isn't a higher reward out there for ice. 0.0 Ice should yield at least a 50% better payout especially with the poor refineries out there. Ex. Thick blue ice should yield 450 isotopes for 0.0 mining rather than 350.
Better yet here is an idea for ice.
Highsec - base line - 300 isotopes per unit low sec - 25% better - 375 isotopes per unit 0.0 - 50% better - 450 isotopes per unit.
This makes a better benefit for 0.0 miners and low sec miners, and leaves high sec unchanged so people wont complain**.
** Note on complaining. People will still complain anyway.

All hi-sec Pos's would suffer from this move. Your basic research corps would close down. The high sec station ME, PE, and copy or already back logged as it is it will just add a long strain to them. Anyone who isnÆt a fool will never take BPOÆs too low or null sec.
Ice products would skyrocket in price. The only groups that would benefit from this would be the ones that had ice belts pop up in their systems. Meanwhile the other alliances that were not lucky to receive a belt would be at the mercy of every alliance in the game. You would make it so that systems with belts would be the first attacked in Alliance wars. In turn making it the way to win a fight (completely starve out all POSÆs and capital ships). This would kill the ôEmergent Terrainö goal.
Jumping ships require ice products. When first buying a ship to jump out, it is cheaper to mine the ice that you get in hi-sec then it would be to buy the ice that has skyrocketed.
Any one who doesn't agree with the prices skyrocketing look at what happed to the price of POS fuel after the NPC's stoped selling it.
I agree with "Osidian hawk" donÆt kill the belt. Just make the pay out more for the Low, and Null sec
"Obsidian Hawk: Highsec - base line - 300 isotopes per unit low sec - 25% better - 375 isotopes per unit 0.0 - 50% better - 450 isotopes per unit."
Maybe even less for High sec say 150 per unit. This makes Corp mining in high sec a big issue, or they will need to buy from somewhere. but the prices will not go thorough the roof.
WHÆs: From someone that used to live in WH space at one time. ABC ores are needed to help replace the ships lost due to ganking or sleepers. It takes a long times to get a system that will lead to a ôsafeö out. The ship you try to bring back in also may close that WH. If anything is needed in WH space, it is an ice belt to pop up from time to time. One random belt traveling from system to system in a constellation will help people in WH space be more self-sufficient. It does not have to be much ice but could be enough to help a group with two or maybe even three POSÆs last a week or two longer without needing a lot of fuel to be shipped in. To keep someone from mining it for a week you can give it a 24 hour window as well. The more Pos's someone has running more more frequent the belt shows up.
comprimise with 250 in high sec. Prices can get very high especially around hulkageddon times.

ok so far the summary is
RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE They took yer jerbs.
But anyway my deciphering of all the posts is this.
If you nerf high sec mining, you basically screw all high sec production, and all wh space production. What makes you think 0.0 people are going to be nice and haul isotopes to empire? Remember 0.0 doesnt rely on pos warfare now. you only need 2 pos towers in system 1 with a jump bridge and 1 with a cyno jammer and bam, system is protected well. Only reason people have pos towers other than those is for moon goo.
BTW MOON GOO needs to be balanced more than roid belts and ice belts.
I still stand by my idea better. Buff 0.0 belts leave high sec alone.

That's the best idea in this whole thread!! This idea is really great and i hope, that CCP will put this into game.

Great thinking, nowcombine this with a small buff to null sec manufacturing ,and research slots to make them as good as high and low sec slots and you got a good start in boosting nullsec industry Ccp might even consider introducing superveld for nullsec or a t2 ore compression system to make it complete Keeps everybody happy Maybe also introduce t3 industrial subsystems (5% yield per lvl and 5% time for icemining per lvl, 3 highslots1 auxillery high slot 10 % cargospace per lvl) that fits on the current t3 ships and that replaces the offensive subsystem so the mining ship can tank those nullsec rats, true a hulk can do it aswell but you sacrificing so much yield it is not fun anymore especially if you are your own
Nullsec delenda est
Ok so lets work with this here and the above comments with botting.
First maybe lets adjust the ice refine amounts to make sure prices say relatively the same but do not drop like mega and zydrine.
PROPOSAL - ISOTOPE REFINES
High sec - 250 isotopes / refine Low sec - 350 isotopes / refine 0.0 - 450 isotopes / refine
Mining and minerals
WH space - Ok dont kill off ABC from wh's 25% of all abc from wh's is not that much but it is significant.
Proposal - reduce the roid sizes that spawn in those bets or the amount of roids or dont make all 3 spawn in the same belt.
there are what 9 types of wh space belts. Well why not adjust them so instead of ABC spawning in 1 belt, it is only 1 of the 3. WH space keeps their abc ore there, and the amount coming in from wh space drops.
Example -
token site spawns arkonor uncommon spawns bistot bountiful spawns crokite vital spawns all 3.
removing it totally is a bad idea but regulating it by changing the spawns would be a better solution.

Im sticking with my ideas.
Boost 0.0 ice and mineral refine amounts as i stated with ice instead of 350 topes per ice, make it 425-450 topes per ice. Eliminate all the normal roids and replace them with the 5 and 10% roids. Make 0.0 grav sites just a treasure chest of minerals.
Don't eliminate ABC's from wormholes just cut back on the roid sizes by 25%.
Leave high sec alone.

I stand by earlier ideas, and what keeps being said, you need to give 0.0 people a reason to mine.
Make TCU, stations, and other stuff have some sort of fuel requirement that can only be found in 0.0.
BUT DONT TOUCH HIGH SEC ICE! High sec ice is 100% needed in game otherwise there will be complete chaos.
